The Makita XSH04ZB is a groundbreaking addition to the 18V LXT® Sub-Compact tool category, designed for cutting and ripping applications. It boasts a compact and ergonomic design, measuring only 10-5/8″ and weighing just 6.4 lbs. with an 18V LXT® Compact 2.0Ah battery (sold separately). The brushless motor, exclusive to Makita, provides an impressive 5,000 RPM and superior power-to-weight ratio.
The tool is equipped with Automatic Speed Change™ technology, which adjusts the cutting speed and torque to ensure optimum performance. With a brushless motor, users can expect up to 50% longer run time compared to non-brushless models. In testing, the XSH04 made up to 174 cross-cuts per charge in 2×10 SPF lumber using one 5.0Ah battery (sold separately). Users can also take advantage of the compatibility with Makita’s 18V LXT® battery system, including options for 2.0Ah, 3.0Ah, 4.0Ah, 5.0Ah, and 6.0Ah batteries (sold separately).
For enhanced user convenience, the XSH04 features dual L.E.D. lights, an electric brake, a built-in tether notch (tether sold separately), and Extreme Protection Technology (XPT™) for improved dust and water resistance. The saw is also equipped with a rear dust port for easy connection to a vacuum system (dust extraction accessories sold separately).
As part of Makita’s expanding 18V LXT® system, the XSH04 is powered by 18V Lithium-Ion batteries with the fastest charge times in their categories. The tool is protected by Star Protection Computer Controls™, a communication technology that exchanges data in real time to protect against overloading, over-discharging, and overheating. The tool is also compatible with Makita 18V LXT® and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with Star Protection.
